Here’s how it all began:
Annie in Leah’s DMs: “Do you have any interest in podcasting?”
Leah (like 3 seconds later): “YEEEssssssS!”
We barely knew each other when we got on the phone to explore podcasting, but within minutes we were chatting openly about our experiences, challenges, hopes, and dreams for our businesses. There was no need for us to have to explain terms and definitions or spend time trying to explain why our business was important to one another.
And there was no need to justify, explain, or validate the stories, frustrations, and wins we shared. We both already understood and it was a relief to open up with someone else about things that you only talk about only when you’re with other lactation consultants.
That conversation between two friends opening up about our experience in the lactation field was the start of the Lactation Business Coaching Podcast. We share a passion for compassionate and professional private practice, meeting our business goals while helping families reach their feeding goals. Each time we talk, we learn something new and we’re inspired to keep ongoing.
We’ve now been podcasting for 3 years with more than 60 episodes plus we’ve hosted more than 20 Deeper Dives featuring special guests covering everything from productivity, pandemic fatigue, imposter syndrome, marketing and private practice.
Meet Annie & Leah
Annie Frisbie MA, IBCLC (she/her/hers) has been a lactation consultant in private practice in New York City since 2011 and is the creator of the Lactation Private Practice Essential Toolkit and the accompanying Lactation Private Practice Essential Course.
In 2018 Annie was honored with the US Lactation Consultant Association’s President’s Award, “awarding those that demonstrate extraordinary service to the association and profession.”
Leah Jolly IBCLC (she/her/hers) has a thriving group practice in Houston, TX and runs a lactation clinic through a pediatric office. She presents regularly on breastfeeding and lactation to families and professionals, and has launched corporate lactation programs for several large companies in the Houston area.
